Although I was born in New York City in 1942, he have resided in Mexico for 45 years and in San Miguel de Allende since 2016. In 2019, I published my first book, “The Thriving Vegan.” The book was founded on my extensive research and experience as a whole-food vegan since 2008. The book’s primary objectives were to 1) promote the benefits of whole plant-based foods for optimal health and 2) expose the orchestrated misinformation and manipulation tactics of the agriculture, dairy, pharmaceutical, and processed food industries, which are more interested in their profit than your health or mine.

The Journey

Our journey toward optimal health begins when we are truly informed about what’s good for our health and put that knowledge into practice. We achieve a more intimate and harmonious relationship with our bodies. We can trust it to
care for us because it has been doing that all our lives. Once we experience physical, mental, and emotional health and realize that our miraculous body can solve almost all our health problems, the excess fear, stress, and anxiety many are experiencing during the pandemic start to melt away. When that happens, we feel free inside. We can focus on the following potentially catastrophic issues facing humanity today: They are – Pollution of oceans, rivers, and streams –
Massive deforestation – Depleted aquifers – Depletion of soil nutrients – Elimination of arable land – Contamination of the air we breathe – Increasing global poverty and starvation – Extinction and exploitation of other species.

I knew it didn’t have to be that way.

So I combined the latest science on healthy aging, the practical tools of habit change, and decades of personal experience to create something different: a clear, step-by-step path to thriving—not just surviving—later in life.

Earning the Plant-Based Nutrition Certificate deepened my understanding of how whole food plant-based eating can transform health and extend life. The course was created by T. Colin Campbell, PhD, the author of the bestselling book The China Study, which is considered the most comprehensive study of nutrition ever conducted. The book was the culmination of a 20-year partnership of Cornell University, Oxford University, and the Chinese Academy of Preventive Medicine. The course has given me the knowledge and credibility to guide others toward vibrant, purposeful living, especially in their later years. This certification is a key part of my mission to help people thrive with energy, clarity, and joy as they age.

Earning my Health and Nutrition Life Coach Certification is a vital step in my mission to help people—especially in their later years—live longer, healthier, and more purposeful lives. This certification empowers me with the tools, strategies, and confidence to coach others toward lasting lifestyle changes, grounded in both science and compassion. It aligns perfectly with my vision of guiding individuals to thrive, not just survive, as they age. With this foundation, I can more effectively support others in achieving wellness, vitality, and joy well into their 80s, 90s, and beyond.
